It's been a while! Trips and traveling have taken up a lot of time this year, but as the end of the year approaches and things wind down I have some time to share some of the exciting things that have been going on, one of which is The Skull Project, currently on exhibit at Hub Tattoo! Michael Norris did an amazing job curating this show, featuring tattoo artists from around Austin and their interpretation of a portion of a photograph of a still-life containing a skull and floral elements. It's truly incredible to see all the pieces displayed together, and if you have a moment and are in Austin you should definitely stop by Hub Tattoo to view it in person in the gallery space! Here's a sneak peak of my contribution; I feel very honored to be a part of this unique and engaging project with so many inspiring and talented fellow Austin tattooers <3
I'm very excited to say that I'll be tattooing at the Star Of Texas Tattoo Art Revival Tattoo Convention this year! Lots of great art by amazing artists from around the world; it's sure to be an epic event! Even if you're not looking to get tattooed, it's pretty awesome to watch talented people doing what they do best I'll be booked with appointments, but please come by the booth and say hi if you're in town! Hope to see you there!
It's that time again! Friday the 13th will be upon us next week!
This time I decided to pay homage to two great acts: James Taylor and Slayer! Fire, eyeballs, and blood rain; all my favorite things! Really excited this go-round to put these badass designs on all you beautiful people! :)

Recently it's come to light that the tattoo stencil paper available on the market today is not vegan (it contains lanolin). There's been a lot of discussion about this: some folks feel that being concerned about what's in the paper used in the process is splitting hairs, and that's fine well and good, but that's not how I feel; I'm dedicated to making all aspects of my life cruelty-free where it's in my power to do so, and my profession is no exception. It's not about a marketing ploy; it's about what I think is the right thing to do. It doesn't really matter to me if you as clients care if your tattoo or the process that creates it is vegan; I care. That's why I've done so much research and worked so hard to come up with a vegan alternative stencil paper for those of you that are interested. And by making it available to you, the clients, it opens up the option for you to go to any artist who's work you like, so you aren't just limited to shops or artists claiming to offer vegan tattoos that may not offer the style or caliber of artwork you're interested in, which is, ultimately, what's most important when considering a tattoo. And ultimately, any professional tattoo artist that really cares about tattooing wants you to get the artwork you're interested in getting, whether or not it's from them. Being vegan shouldn't narrow that option for you, and now it doesn't have to, which I think is great news :)
These sheets will be sold individually through my Etsy store; they are hand-trace only (cannot be put through a thermofax machine), and are reusable until there is no more ink left on the paper, meaning you can get a number of tattoo stencils out of each sheet. Quantities are limited as I am only able to make this available in small batches at the moment, but feel free to order as many as you like at one time. I'll be shipping them in weather-resistant packaging that is recommended for long term storage in a safe, dry place so as to protect the integrity and reuseability of your sheet. You can purchase sheets by clicking here. Hope some of you find these useful and helpful!
Friends! Halloween is here again! Perfect excuse to do some fun tattoo flash and offer it to you at a special price! THIS WEDNESDAY, 10/30/13, get into some tattoo mischief with me, choose from any of the designs on this sheet: $30+$10 shop setup fee ($40 total), and I'll be donating 50% of my tips to animal rescue efforts! Doors open at 11:30am, and I'll be tattooing until 7pm.

I have some very exciting news! I have the pleasure of being able to team up with the folks at Stay True Organics to be able to bring you a great offer on their truly awesome vegan tattoo aftercare. I've used both their tattoo wash and their healing ointment on my own tattoos and gotten superior results. I've also used their ointment in my tattoo process. The wash and the ointment are gentle yet effective; just a little bit goes a long way, and they're easy to take on the go. Did I mention they also smell fantastic? Click on the link below to check out the set and save 10% on their cruelty-free tattoo aftercare products through 6/30/13 at www.staytrueorganics.com with code AT214 during checkout!
Light and Love!
Howdy everyone! I'm back safe and sound after a crazy two weeks of travel, and I have to say it was a blast getting to see so many of your familiar faces out in NYC and getting to work on so many cool ideas. I feel very lucky to have such awesome clients who allow me so much artistic freedom, on opposite sides of the country even! Can't wait to see you all again, thanks so much for everything East Coasters!
In other exciting news, I also had the honor of being asked to design some super cool merch for Rabbit Food Grocery! It's a kick-ass, all-vegan online grocery store, with headquarters right here in Austin! If you live in Austin or nearby, keep an eye out for their pop-up shop, where you can buy a boat load of amazing vegan goodies in person! If you live on the opposite side of the country, no worries! You can still order vegan noms via their online store. Be sure to pick up a t-shirt or a tote bag while you're at it and spread the vegan love! <3
Stay Awesome Kids!
I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by the lovely folks at Hands and Tails, a Canadian talk show about art, animals, and a bunch of other interesting stuff. The hosts were great, and they definitely let me spread some knowledge about veganism and tattooing, which i am always more than happy to do! And you can also hear my roommate's super cute dog Ibby barking his two cents in the background, ha ;)
You can check out the hour-long show in its entirety here (http://cfru.ca/recordings/108) - the original air date is 2/15/13, and the segment with my interview starts about 37 minutes into the program. Be sure to check out the whole program, as well as some of the other interesting topics in their archives at http://handsandtails.com/!
